Melvin Eugene Carnahan (February 11, 1934, Birch Tree, Missouri – October 17, 2000, Goldman, Missouri) was an American politician who was Governor (D) of Missouri from 1993 to 2000. He died in a plane crash on the Pevely and Hillsboro, Missouri, border during a campaign for the U.S. Senate, after which he was elected posthumously to the office.
